IBAN or not IBAN? What is the Question? What is the answer?

Just tried to set up a a Kindle version of the novel with Amazon's KDP branch. Everything was great until I tried to enter banking details to receive any book royalties. It could not identify my submitted IBAN number. In spite of my best efforts it kept rejecting it. Why?

The number was very carefully typed out as it appeared on my recently received notification from the bank. Apparently all the IBAN's are now changed for making/receiving international payments. So, I've been unable to upload and start selling the eBook version of the novel. Once again another setback in the publishing process.

Sent them a missive asking why they could not locate my account?

Automated response.

"We'll get back to you in sometime between today and the next seven days."

Cynical me. As if I believe them.

That's not OK KDP. While you're taking your time no one can get a eBook copy thanks to someone's ineptitude failing to note the changes to IBAN's the world over. Ah! Well! just have to sit and wait for a response. Let's see how long it takes... assuming they get back to me. More on this later.
