Came across this quote while cruising the web in the hunt for some background information for the sequel novel. As usual it was a diversion, one of the dangers writers face as they try to find accurate detail. Having seen it I couldn't ignore it for it's simple truth. Writing a scene where multiple characters are involved in conversation is a challenge. You have to live and breathe that character as they make their utterances giving them their distinct voice. Do I have any tips on how to do this? No I don't. There is only one thing you can do. Live that moment with the character letting them take over to express themselves; nothing less and nothing more. Amen.
