"To read a novel is to have the opportunity to experience another existence, a different reality

"To read a novel is to have the opportunity to experience another existence, a different reality." This is a line from the third Jimmy Mack novel I'm currently writing. It owes it's origins to another quote I came across by George R.R. Martin.

If I had to explain to anyone why they should read novels I would use my own words but then, in addition, refer to the words of George R.R. Martin. We may have little in common with regards to subject matter as writers but we do share the same notion as to the worth of fiction and it's power on our mind. For those who read novels are enriched in ways that those who don't read can be never be.
